Working with you to increase resilience, cope with loss,

deal with change

Sometimes life feels like being hit by waves, barely managing to catch a breath before being dragged under by the next thing. This feeling of overwhelm can cause anxiety, fear and stress. Many things can cause or add to this; work problems, family or relationship issues, illness or bereavement to name but a few. Sometimes we can’t understand why we feel the way we do, other times we are ashamed of not coping or embarrassed by how much we are struggling.

Counselling provides a safe place to explore these feelings and to try to make some sense of what we are going through. As a person centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert on yourself and will not try to lead you or direct you. My aim is to listen without judgement and give you the space and time to untangle the many emotions that you might be feeling. Sometimes it can be a place to say the things that you simply cannot say to anyone else, knowing that our session is confidential*. Other times it is a place to release emotions that you don’t feel safe to display anywhere else.

*caveats to confidentiality are discussed at first session.
